Biography

Anna Louise Miller, age 84 of Napoleon and formerly of Ridgeville Corners, Ohio passed away on Tuesday morning at The Toledo Hospital.
She was born June 8, 1925 in Deshler, Ohio to the late S. Fred and Emma (Fintel) Hoops. On September 3, 1944 she married Richard “Dick” Miller and he preceded her in death on March 28, 2005.
Anna worked for the ITT Higbee Company and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township. She was a life member of the Napoleon V.F.W. Post 8218 Aux. and the Ridgeville American Legion Aux.
She is survived by sons, Thomas (Pat) Miller of South Ogden, UT, and Kenneth G. (Phyllis) Miller of Ridgeville Corners; daughters, Sharon (Ken) Vorwerk of Napoleon, Joann Barlow of Bryan, and Shelley (Ronnie) Hollingshead of Halls, TN.; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Gerken of Napoleon, Wilma Sonnenberg of Napoleon, Emma (Marvin) Brandt of Defiance, Arlene McDougle of Holgate; brothers, Donald (Millie) Hoops of Deshler, Fred (Marie) Hoops of Bowling Green, Victor (Jolain) Hoops of Hamler and Melvin Hoops of Deshler.
Preceding her in death also were brothers Elroy and Edgar Hoops, sister Norma Linau and grandson Jared Vorwerk.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, (December 4. 2009) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township with the Rev. Franklin Hays, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 4-8 PM in the Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home in Napoleon and on Friday one hour prior to services at the church. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
