Biography
Gilda J. Durham, age 63 of Napoleon, Ohio passed away on Saturday evening at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born November 2, 1946 in Ironton, Ohio to Daniel Hutchinson and Florence (Besco) Henderson. Her father survives in Yuma, Arizona and her mother survives of Ironton, Ohio.
Gilda worked for the Campbell’s Soup Company in Napoleon for 22 years, retiring in April of 2007. She was a strong fighter in battling cancer since 2002. She was an avid bowler at the River City Bowl-A-Way, an avid reader and enjoyed Nascar racing.
She is survived by a daughter Tammy Durham of Napoleon; two grandchildren Harley Dunakin III and Ethan Dunakin; three sisters O’Dessia Kline, Patricia Monning, and Linda Howard; six brothers Danny Hutchinson, Tony Hutchinson, Steve Hutchinson, Rob Hutchinson, Tom Henderson, and Bill Henderson.
She was preceded in death by two brothers Alan Hutchinson and Ronnie Hutchinson.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 7 PM in the Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home. Private interment will be made in Cole Cemetery, Flatrock Township.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Flatrock Township or the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
