Paul D Schuette

January 24, 1915 - December 24, 2009

Paul D. Schuette, age 94 of Napoleon, Ohio passed away on December 24, 2009 at the Lutheran Home of Napoleon, Ohio.
He was born January 24, 1915 to Herman and Frieda (Plassman) Schuette and became a child of God through Holy Baptism on February 14, 1915. He was confirmed on Palm Sunday, April 1, 1928 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Napoleon Township. On June 8, 1947, he married Elvera Dickmander, who survives him.
Paul was a farmer and then became a mail carrier for the Napoleon Post Office, working his way up to assistant postmaster. After which he had a rural route, retiring after 38 years. Paul stayed active in the family farm for most of his life. He was a longstanding member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon where he served on numerous committees. He was a member of Lutheran Laymans League, a Sunday school teacher, and volunteer at the Lutheran Home for more than 20 years. He belonged to the Ohio Rural Letter Carriers Association and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
He is survived by two sons: Marcus (Jolene) Schuette of Okolona, Ohio and Herbert (Kimberly) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. He is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his brother Lawrence Schuette of Napoleon; and two sisters Edna Coe of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Laura Meyer of Punta Gorda, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Edwin, Fredrick, and Henry Schuette.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Ohio with the Rev. Charles Kramer and Rev. Lee Genter, officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Memory Gardens, rural Defiance, Ohio.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 3 to 8 PM in the Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home and also on Tueday for one hour prior to services at the church.
