Luetta M. Rathge, age 87 of Napoleon , Ohio passed away on Wednesday evening at the Golden Living Center - Northcrest in Napoleon.
She was born July12, 1922 in Henry County to the late Arthur and Anna Marie (Huner) Buchhop. On April 29, 1945 she married Raymond W. Rathge and he preceded her in death on July 18, 1999.
Luetta was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township and the Women of the Church.
She is survived by sons, Daniel R. (Sandra) of Toledo, Roger E. (Janien) of Napoleon, Fred A. (Brenda) of Napoleon, Steven A. of Raleigh, NC, Mark L. (Debra) of Vermilion, Ohio; daughter, Barbara Ann (Mark) Viets of North Olmsted, Ohio; daughter in-law, Diana Rathge of Raleigh, NC; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death also were a grand-daughter, Maria Viets, brothers Orville and Robert Buchhop and sisters, Denelda Schwiebert , Irma Jean Follett and Arlene Buchhop, step brothers, Harold and Ed Schroeder.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, (January 11, 2010) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township with the Rev. Mike Giese, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 1 – 8 PM in the Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home in Napoleon and on Monday one hour prior to services at the church. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Alzheimer’s Association, Napoleon Lutheran Home, Golden Living Center - Northcrest or a charity of the donor’s choice.
