Biography

Delora L. Rickenberg, age 87 of Napoleon, passed away early Sunday morning, January 17, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born December 8, 1922 in Henry County to the late Carl and Mary (Arps) Wachtman. On June 8, 1947 she married Lawrence Rickenberg.
Delora was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In her early years, she worked for Zellers Corporation of Defiance and around 8 years for Campbell’s Soup Company of Napoleon. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township and the Women of the Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Lawrence Rickenberg; grandchildren, Jeremy Zachrich, Mike Rickenberg, Matt Rickenberg, Josh Zachrich, Jason Zachrich, and Jill Schilt and 8 great-grandchildren.
Delora was preceded in death by her two children Dennis Rickenberg and Janice Zachrich and her brother Wilfred Wachtman.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, (January 20, 2010) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township with the Rev. Franklin Hays, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6–8 PM in the Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home in Napoleon and on Wednesday one hour prior to services at the church. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Foundation or The Napoleon Lutheran Home.
