Biography

Julius G. Meyer, age 91, of Napoleon, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Henry County Hospital in Napoleon.
He was born September 2, 1918, in Florida, Ohio to the late Otto and Helen (Bockleman) Meyer. On December 29, 1943 he married Phyllis Scofield and she survives.
Julius was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Holgate. He was the Lead Man in the Tool & Die Department of the Zeller Corp. in Defiance for 37 years and retiried in 1983. Jude served his country in the Army Air Corp. in WWII.

He is survived by a son, James (Trish) Meyer of Holgate; daughters, Linda (Ted) Winzeler of Houston, TX, and LeeAnn Meyer of Merrillville, IN; brothers, Richard of Fort Wayne, IN, Ervin of Pennsylvania, Otto of Hudson, OH; sisters, Betty Hoy of Napoleon and Meta Walter of Florida, OH; 12 grandchildren: Alissa, Elena, Dajia, Shayna, Leah, Sarah, Craig, Jessica, Cora, Alex, Eric, Sean; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Elmer, Paul and Robert Meyer and sisters, Euretha Koch and Ruth Meyer.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday (May 12, 2010) at St. John's United Church of Christ with the Rev. Jane Hillman, officiating. Burial will in the Florida Cemetery with military honors accorded by the joint veteran posts of Napoleon.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 – 4 & 6 - 8 PM in the Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home in Napoleon and on Wednesday for one hour prior to services at the church. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ or a charity of the donor’s choice.
