Biography

Elmer Kruse, age 96 of Napoleon, passed away early Monday morning, July 5, 2010 at the Lutheran Home at Napoleon.
He was born October 23, 1913 in Freedom Township, Henry County to the late Henry and Ida (Meyer) Kruse.
Elmer was a lifelong carpenter and a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Freedom Township, where he served as an elder. He was also a member of the Ridgeville American Legion Post 454. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving from 1942 – 1945.
He is survived by a niece Diane (Richard) Alvord of Napoleon, Ohio; two nephews Wayne (Marilyn) Kruse of Franklin, Tennessee and Robert (Debra) Kruse of Fresno, California; 2 great nephews, 4 great nieces, 3 great great nephews and 2 great great nieces.
Elmer was preceded in death by two brothers Albert “Bert” Kruse and Fred Kruse.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, (July 8, 2010) at the St. John Lutheran Church of Freedom Township with the Rev. Stephen Niermann, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors accorded by the Ridgeville American Legion.
Friends will be received on Wednesday 2-4 and 6–8 PM in the Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home in Napoleon and on Thursday for one hour prior to services at the church.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
